Hello, True Texans!
I hope you've got your boots on, because the dance lessons start at 3pm TODAY (Sunday)! Just show up... no rsvp needed. A friend on Facebook wrote this:
How Fun!!!! Thank y’all for scheduling these. I loved watching all the fun line-dancing at Texas Tough last year! I’m looking forward to this, so I can join in on the dancing fun this year.
But hey, we've got more than just dancing going on! A new month has started and we've got lots planned! Scroll down to our new calendar below, and also remember our March podcast will drop on Friday. But first, if you did not watch our FEBRUARY announcements yet, make sure you do so here:
February Statewide Announcements
Texas Tough Our annual gala is the most affordable gala we've seen around! AND we offer the most entertainment! Not only that, but the people at the event create a "Band of Brothers" vibe you won't find in many other places. It's truly the best night of the year! I guess that's why tickets are selling so fast!
One of the most common questions we get for Texas Tough is, "Where will I get to sit?" Here's how it works:
The very best seats go to our top sponsors. These are guests paying $5k, $10k, and more.
After that come the $2500 sponsors, on down to the $500 sponsors.
The VIP tickets cost more because you get a photo op with the keynote speaker (actor Kevin Sorbo). They don't necessarily mean you'll get a better seat. After the sponsorships are seated, the VIP will come next, but it's likely not what you'd consider "prime." This sometimes makes folks mad, but understand that a ticket price literally only covers our costs for food and entertainment. The actual fundraising that supports TTP all year comes from sponsorships.
General admission are the remaining seats. However, in this venue, all seats are great. There are screens on all 4 walls, and the few support poles in the room are not obtrusive. We pay more for this venue because of the great layout and size.
If you want to sit next to a friend, just email all names to [email protected]. I'll do my best to make sure we accommodate. Please do not send names that have not yet purchased a ticket. And please make sure the person knows you're making this request.
Be gracious! You'd be surprised the rude comments we get from folks who are outraged they didn't get the best seat or are jealous that someone else did. We're all there to have a great time. Focus instead on making new friends... and smile! The people that are with you here and now are way more important than any VIP you'll see on that stage. I promise!
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
In honor of Texas Independence Day, everyone who purchases a Texas Tough ticket today will get a free entry into the drawing to shoot off the cannons! That's right, at our party we shoot off replicas of the Twin Sister cannons that were gifted to Texas from Cincinnati - and that's exactly how we won the war that gave us our independence!
Capitol Engagement:
Join us TOMORROWMarch 3rd for True Texan Day at the capitol! You'll get a tour of the Capitol building, lunch, a briefing from lawmakers and grassroots leaders, plus you’ll visit your own representatives’ offices to deliver TTP Legislative Priorities and get to know your representatives and their staff.
If you have plans to join us in Austin on any Tuesday, email [email protected].
New Month! Here is March at a glance...
We are definitely ramping up the activism in March, so jump in any chance you get! Plus, as always, we have 16 + meetings happening statewide and plenty of social events to choose from!
Our TTP@Home podcast is offered on the 1st Friday of every month. Check out our February interview with Meg Basham on her book Shepherds for Hire... or any other shows you may have missed!
The next one drops Friday to talk about expanded gambling in Texas.
