Donald Trump and Elon Musk have taken a sledgehammer to the federal government, gutting key programs like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and even firing Federal Aviation Administration staff.
So, it shouldn’t surprise us that this month the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was a target of Trump and Musk.
If you're unfamiliar with CISA, they’re tasked with providing state and local election officials with critical tools and assistance to defend against cyber and physical threats to election systems.
And now, they’re being ordered to halt “all election security activities.”
