Change Makers: Phoenix Leads the Way

Learn how a charter school and a district are shaping the future of school in Arizona

When the ongoing pandemic challenged schools across the nation to adapt, Dr. Chad E. Gestson and Julia Meyerson led their respective schools to quickly react. Over the past two months, Dr. Gestson and Ms. Meyerson have overseen their schools’ transition to virtual learning and are now focused on plans to create safe environments for students to return in the fall. While both education leaders responded to similar challenges, Dr. Gestson and Ms. Meyerson highlight different perspectives on how Public & Charter schools were each able to successfully adapt and educate. On Tuesday, Dr. Gestson and Ms. Meyerson will detail their schools’ rapid response to COVID-19, and their transition to, and embrace of virtual learning, as they continue to reshape their school environments going forward.
