One of my top priorities in Congress is advocating for our men and women in uniform.

This week, I was proud to join the Navy and Marine Corps Caucus to continue fighting for our nation's heroes.

I was joined at the first meeting by Brenda, who proudly serves in the U.S. Navy and will work as a Defense Fellow on our team this year.

Advocating for Our Nation's Troops

Recently, I traveled to Europe with Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Weimer.

Our troops are the first to confront conflict and defend our way of life—they deserve the support of their lawmakers. We must do more to provide our men and women in uniform the technology and tools they need to succeed.

Meeting with TX-23 Healthcare Leaders

This week, I met with healthcare leaders across our state to discuss the importance of protecting Medicaid and Medicare.

As Congress builds a new budget, I am committed to fighting for these healthcare programs.

I am also committed to eliminating government waste to ensure our debt stops spiraling. We can and should do both.

Prioritizing Student Safety

When emergencies happen, there's no time to waste. Only 43% of schools use silent alarms that connect to law enforcement.

That's why I joined a bipartisan group of my colleagues to reintroduce the ALYSSA Act to require silent panic alarms in schools nationwide.
