Hey — have you seen this?

Last month, a Louisiana Senator had this to say in support of sweeping cuts to federal funding: 

“You better get used to this. It’s USAID today, it’s going to be the 
Department of Education tomorrow.”

We've already seen the GOP move to fund religious charter schools using taxpayer dollars in Oklahoma. Now, Republicans from our target regions are outright admitting they're targeting the Department of Education. 

In response, we must continue our year-round work to build durable political infrastructure in communities that have been overlooked, excluded, and disenfranchised. Our target regions are ground zero for attempts to dismantle our rights, and under Trump's administration, access to public education is more threatened than ever.
