Dear Friend,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our Weekend Update.
On Friday, President Donald J. Trump and Vice President JD Vance welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the White House. Rather than work toward peace, Zelenskyy's words and actions indicate he is not interested in ending this conflict. Is there something wrong with seeking peace—especially when the U.S. can broker it in a way that serves Ukrainian interests? Instead of asking the American people to fork over another $150-200 billion for trench warfare, with thousands more lives lost, only to be in the same place a year from now, we should be pushing for an end to the killing and destruction.
Zelenskyy seems more interested in being a war hero than a peacemaker. Putin is a bad actor—he will get what’s coming <>to him—but the priority should be ending this war. No president has been tougher on Russia than President Trump. He stopped the Nord Stream Pipeline, imposed strong sanctions, and projected real strength on the world stage. This war would never have started if Biden hadn’t created a vacuum of leadership and displayed such obvious weakness. That’s exactly what emboldens real bullies. Strength stops them—weakness invites them. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch President Trump's press briefing yesterday evening.

This week, House Republicans took a significant step toward advancing President Donald J. Trump’s America First Agenda. The Republican budget resolution sets the stage for President Trump’s big, beautiful bill—delivering border security, a dominant energy policy, and continued tax relief that gave us a great and strong economy.
Despite what the media and the left allege, no Medicaid or Medicare benefits will be reduced—these are entirely false claims. The only reductions will be to waste, abuse, fraud, and ineligibility if found—which I believe 98% of Americans support. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch my comments on the budget.

I went on CNN to set the record straight: there were NO cuts to Medicaid or Medicare. Last year, there were $101 billion in improper payments to Medicaid and Medicare – even if we addressed just 70% of this waste, we can cover the entirety of what the Energy and Commerce Committee has been tasked to save. The 160 million Americans who don’t work for the federal government are shaking their heads at the outrage over DOGE simply asking bureaucrats to account for their work. With $2 trillion in overspending a year and $236 billion in improper payments, President Trump is rooting out the waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.
To that end, I introduced the Payment Integrity Information Reform Act to identify improper federal payments, recover lost funds, and hold agencies accountable. Reining in wasteful spending will mean greater investments in America First projects that will benefit our country. I joined the “National Report” on Newsmax to discuss DOGE, my legislation, and other related topics. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch.

I joined the "Varney & Co." show on Fox Business, where I discussed the critical role of crypto in the U.S. economy. We must seize this moment. That means building on the success of FIT 21, which the House passed with bipartisan support last year.

My new Doge-centric bill is set to target more than $200 billion in improper payments made by the federal government. For too long, taxpayer dollars have been wasted with no accountability. My bill will hold agencies responsible, recover lost funds, and prevent future waste. Click here <[link removed]> to watch more of my interview on "Varney & Co." to discuss this interview.

IN NEWS YOU WON'T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: President Trump and DOGE are working to expose waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government. So far, DOGE has saved American taxpayers $55 billion by eliminating fraud, renegotiating contracts, canceling wasteful grants, reducing bureaucratic bloat, and implementing regulatory reforms.
One agency under the microscope is USAID, which has spent over $40 billion in taxpayer dollars on foreign aid.
DOGE has uncovered questionable spending, including:
- $520 million - for consultant-driven "green" investments in Africa.
- $45 million - for DEI scholarships in Burma.
- Over $49 million - for LGBT-related projects in foreign countries.
- $20 million - for a new Sesame Street show in Iraq.
- $14 million - in cash vouchers for migrants at the southern border through the State Department.
- $6 million - to promote tourism in Egypt.
- $4.67 million - to EcoHealth Alliance, a group that funded bat-virus research at the Wuhan lab.
- $4.5+ million - to "combat disinformation" in Kazakhstan.
- $4.5 million - to teach people in Kazakhstan how to fight back against internet trolls.
- $3.2 million - to help Tunisian migrants readjust to life in Tunisia after deportation.
- $2.5 million - for electric vehicles in Vietnam.
- $1.5 million - to promote DEI in Serbian workplaces and businesses.
Despite these amazing efforts to save taxpayer money, the liberal left and mainstream media continue to demonize these efforts. It wasn't too long ago that Democrat President Bill Clinton was championing similar efforts. Watch his remarks by clicking here <[link removed]> or below.

China is using unfair trade practices, currency manipulation, and aggressive state-backed investment to dominate key industries.
At a Financial Services Committee hearing earlier this week, I questioned witnesses on how we can counter China’s influence—securing critical industries, strengthening AI and energy infrastructure, and stopping China from exploiting our markets.
Under President Trump, we’re seeing a new approach—one that prioritizes America First policies, attracts massive investment, and holds China accountable. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch my questioning.

In a House Committee on Small Business hearing, we discussed how the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program helps small businesses secure the capital needed to develop innovative research and products and bring them to market. These programs drive innovation, fuel economic growth, and empower entrepreneurs nationwide. Click here <[link removed]> or below to watch more.

IN MORE NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Illegal immigrant killers, rapists are not scholars… they are criminals. In a strong contender for dumbest statement of the year, disgraced “filmmaker” Michael Moore lamented <[link removed]> illegal immigrant criminals being apprehended because they might’ve “discovered the cure for cancer” or “stopped that asteroid.” The only thing more foolish than that statement are the politicians who oppose <[link removed]> the deportations.
These are the types of cold-blooded criminals he’s talking about:
- A Portuguese national convicted <[link removed]> of sexual exploitation of a minor—child pornography, apprehended in Philadelphia.
- A Guatemalan national charged <[link removed]> with armed home invasion, kidnapping, intimidation, and assault with a dangerous weapon, apprehended in Rhode Island.
- A Haitian national charged <[link removed]> with three murders, apprehended in North Carolina.
- A Salvadoran national and MS-13 gang member convicted <[link removed]> of aggravated assault with bodily injury and DWI, apprehended in Houston.
- A Guatemalan national charged <[link removed]> with multiple counts of child rape, apprehended in Massachusetts.
- A Brazilian national and confirmed gang member convicted <[link removed]> of assault and battery, apprehended in Boston.
- A Honduran national convicted <[link removed]> of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, apprehended in Minnesota.
- A Salvadoran national convicted <[link removed]> of sodomy/anal intercourse with a child less than 13 years of age, apprehended in Washington.
- An Ecuadorian national convicted <[link removed].> of rape, arrested in Buffalo.
- A Guatemalan national charged <[link removed]> with multiple counts of child rape, apprehended in Massachusetts.
- A Dominican Republican national convicted <[link removed].> of sexual conduct against a child, apprehended in Buffalo.
- A Mexican national convicted <[link removed].> of sexual exploitation of a child, apprehended in San Francisco.
- A Turkish national who is a known <[link removed].> or suspected terrorist, apprehended in New York City.
- A Mexican national convicted <[link removed]> of drug trafficking, apprehended in Texas.
President Trump and Congressional Republicans understand the importance of prioritizing the protection of the American public from vicious criminals and deadly drugs. He has assembled an amazing team to fix our border and get these criminals off of our streets.
In fact, February had the lowest number of illegal immigrants trying to enter our country in HISTORY.
Every day, President Trump is making America safer by prioritizing our border security and reversing the damage done by the Biden administration.
In related news, I applaud District Attorney Pier Hess Graf and Lebanon County law enforcement for their proactive efforts to locate, detain, and deport criminal illegal immigrants. Under DA Hess Graf’s leadership, Lebanon County is working with federal partners to remove individuals who pose a threat to our communities. With this decision, Lebanon County continues to set the standard for enforcing the law and prioritizing the safety of its residents.

I attended the AIPAC Congressional Summit Leadership Reception and had the opportunity to meet with members of the organization in my office. AIPAC continues to play a critical role in strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance, ensuring that America stands firmly with our ally in the face of growing threats. I will always support Israel’s right to defend itself and work to advance policies that bolster our shared security and prosperity.
As a newly named co-chair of the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, I was grateful to take part in a roundtable discussion with AJC CEO Ted Deutch, former Congressman and CEO of the AJC - American Jewish Committee.
Our conversation focused on the rise of antisemitism both at home and abroad and the need for Congress to stand united in confronting this growing threat. The task force plays a vital role in not only condemning antisemitism in all its forms but also taking meaningful action to protect the Jewish community, strengthen engagement with allies, and raise awareness of the dangers of antisemitic hatred.
On Tuesday, I hosted Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy, for an informative discussion about the value of bitcoin in our economy and the need for a digital asset market structure. Digital assets can unlock a frictionless payment future and enable new sources of access to capital.
I look forward to the work the Financial Services Committee Republicans will do in crafting a commonsense legislative framework to provide clear rules of the road, fulfilling President Trump’s promise to make the U.S. the crypto capital of the world.
On Wednesday, I hosted a Congressional Cigar Caucus roundtable with Scott Regina, Chairman of the Premium Cigar Association (PCA), and Storm Boen, an 18 year U.S. Army Veteran and Chairman of Cigars for Warriors, to discuss the important role the cigar industry not only plays in our economy but for our nation’s brave servicemembers.
Cigars for Warriors, a non-profit dedicated to providing service members at home and abroad with donations of premium cigars and accessories, plays a <>crucial role in supporting our troops. Through Storm’s leadership and that of many volunteers, Cigars for Warriors has been able to facilitate the donation of over 1.8 million cigars since their founding. Bringing industry leaders together led to a productive discussion and valuable insights into their mission to give back to those who serve.
