Hi John,
America’s students, parents, educators—and our unions—are coming together all across the country on Tuesday to take a stand against painful cuts to education and health care, just to fund tax cuts for billionaires.
Some communities are hosting Protect Our Kids rallies, marches or teach-ins. Some are meeting with elected officials or organizing call-in campaigns to their members of Congress. And others are reaching out to their local newspapers and TV news stations to share their own stories about what public school cuts would mean for their kids.
Please join the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the labor movement in fighting back. Find a Protect Our Kids event near you—or plan your own.
The Trump administration’s plan to gut the Department of Education would jeopardize 26 million students living in poverty of critical services. The 7.5 million students with disabilities could lose special education support. And for 12 million students, it would eliminate career and technical education, threatening their future job opportunities.
We’re joining the AFT in holding events across the country to call on lawmakers to strengthen, not undermine, our local public schools and the services they provide to children, families and communities. And we are amplifying the voices of those directly impacted by the attacks on public schools and students.
Will you join us? Find an event here.
Stand with us and help us tell lawmakers and the Trump administration: We’re protecting kids, not billionaires.
In Solidarity,
Team AFL-CIO
