We Need YOU!

The climate crisis is growing and 350Brooklyn is growing to meet the challenge. We started with a handful of people in 2015 and now hundreds of you are taking action on the climate crisis with 350Brooklyn. More than 2,000 people get our bi-weekly newsletter.

And this work is having a real impact! In recent months we have:

  1. Brought the Williams pipeline to a standstill.

  2. Helped pass the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act in Albany

  3. Supported the New York City Council in passing a raft of important legislation,

  4. Helped get plastic and paper bags banned, and much more...

But we’ve got lots more to do. New York still only gets 5% of its energy from wind and solar and there are still more fossil fuel infrastructure plans in the works. There’s also work to do to make sure that historically disadvantaged communities do not continue to bear the brunt of the climate crisis.

So we’re asking you to help in two ways:

Come to the July meeting!

We’ll be taking stock and making plans. Thursday, July 11 at 7:30 at Brooklyn Commons, 388 Atlantic Avenue.

Support 350Brookyn financially.

A growing organization means more administrative tasks. So far the “back office” support has been done by volunteers but we are growing beyond what volunteer labor can do.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor. Last year we raised $7,500 and spent just under $5,000. To hire a part-time person and to support the expanding campaigns we need to raise $20,000 in 2019. Can you help?

If 50 more people become donors at $10/month ($120/year) and 25 people become donors at $20/month ($240/year) we will be almost there. If you prefer to give a one-time donation, we’ll take it! But Donate today!

350Brooklyn takes local action to solve the climate crisis. We are an all-volunteer organization and welcome people of all backgrounds, skills, and availability. Interested in volunteering? Contact [email protected]. While we are an affiliate of 350.org, we are programmatically independent and our financial support comes solely from our members. Can you offer financial support? Donate here.
