The COVID-19 pandemic has changed so much of our daily lives, including how I serve and represent the residents of California's 34th Congressional District. Although I'm unable to see many of my constituents in person, over the past two months I've joined community leaders and organizations throughout Los Angeles in lending a helping hand to address our community's needs during this crisis.

Take a look below to see some of the work I've been doing around Los Angeles recently and follow me on Twitter and Facebook to stay updated on where I am in the District!

COVID-19 Testing in Los Angeles

During the COVID-19 pandemic, access to testing for all of our communities is critical. At the end of April, I visited one of the first testing sites on the east side of Los Angeles run by AltaMed.

Healthcare heroes have spread out across the county to provide free tests to all Angelenos, regardless of if you have symptoms or not. Sign up to get you and your family tested today and help keep our neighborhoods healthy.

Home-Delivered Meals in Little Tokyo

This public health crisis has hit our most vulnerable communities the hardest, including seniors. But community partners across California's 34th Congressional District have stepped up to help out.

Earlier this month, I joined the Little Tokyo Service Center to deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors. Many of these Angelenos have been unable to leave their homes for weeks. Home-delivered meals a few times each week helps them with essentials and demonstrates how giving our community is.

Helping Working Families and Students

A couple of weeks ago, I took a quick walk down the street to help hand out supplies at Eagle Rock High School. Supplying students with the technology necessary for remote learning and healthy meals they would otherwise get at school is a critical part of helping our neighbors during this crisis.

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has set up 'Grab & Go' stations, like Eagle Rock High School, across the District to provide nutritious meals and school supplies to those most affected.

If you are in need, click here to find the nearest 'Grab & Go' station to your home.

I also recently joined Para Los Niños to distribute care packages that include non-perishable foods, diapers, and virtual instruction tools for students. Community partners across Los Angeles continue to step up and help out working families during this pandemic.

Thank You, CA-34
