Democrats Want Multi-Trillion Dollar Tax Increase

This week, House Republicans moved Congress closer to delivering on President Trump’s full America First agenda — not just parts of it — by passing the House budget resolution. Sadly, every House Democrat voted against it, which would impose a tax increase on over 130 million Americans who make less than a million dollars a year to the tune of trillions of dollars.

I was honored to speak on the House floor before voting in support of this resolution. I am determined to send a bill to President Trump’s desk that secures our border, keeps taxes low for families and job creators, restores American energy dominance, strengthens America’s standing on the world stage, and makes government work more effectively for all Americans.

Cutting Burdensome Regulations on American Energy and Lowering Costs

During the final days of the Biden-Harris Administration, Democrats delivered another blow to American energy by directing the Environmental Protection Agency to collect a Waste Emissions Charge (WEC) on waste emissions of methane from some oil and gas facilities. Known as the natural gas tax, this fee is a pass-through cost to consumers, raising prices for hardworking Americans and burdening taxpayers while doing little to actually help the environment.

Families are already paying too much at the gas pump, the grocery store, in their utility bills, and everywhere else. Thankfully, this week the House passed legislation to get rid of the WEC, reduce energy costs, and support President Trump’s pro-American energy agenda, and I proudly voted for it.

Implementing WEP / GPO

For years, I have supported correcting the flawed WEP/GPO formula because thousands of Louisiana teachers, first responders, and other public servants have unfairly been penalized by this law. After a decades-long fight, I was pleased to vote for the bill that became law to finally fix this problem.

Earlier this week, the Social Security Administration announced a timeline for the implementation of the WEP/GPO repeal and will begin retroactive payments as soon as this week. For more information, please visit my website.
