Yesterday, the world witnessed a despicable display in the Oval Office from Donald Trump.
The meeting between him and Volodymyr Zelensky ended in chaos, with Trump, Vice President Vance, and Zelensky locked in a heated argument over the Russia-Ukraine war. And once again, Trump couldn’t hide where his loyalties truly lie—defending Russia while trying to blame Ukraine for being invaded.
Trump sees Putin as an ally, not the authoritarian threat to democracy that he is. He openly praises Putin’s leadership and even admires how Russian elections are "run"—despite the fact that they’re a complete sham.
Make no mistake: Trump, like Putin, wants to dismantle democracy one step at a time.
That’s why we must take a page from Ukraine and President Zelensky—by standing up to authoritarianism in our own country.
We need strong Democratic leaders at every level of government who will fight back against Trump’s dangerous agenda. That starts right here in Arizona!
