This is what I think, John...
John, a few days ago I got to speak at the UChicago Institute of Politics.

I talked about my history of activism over the past few years and how I helped lead young people across the country to demand real action on gun violence.
I also talked about the future of activism under the second Trump administration – and the role that young people can and must play in defeating MAGA for good.
Historically speaking, the Democratic Party is at an incredible low when it comes to public support. We should have reckoned with that fact well before Election Day. We should have understood that for most voters, costs were too high and President Biden was too old. They wanted real change that we weren’t offering.
Going forward, we have to tell people the truth – not what we think they want to hear. We have to listen to people’s problems and offer meaningful solutions.
That’s the only way we’ll rebuild trust with young people and bring them back into the Democratic Party’s big tent. We can either do this – or we can keep losing.
I helped start Leaders We Deserve because we need to bolster and support the next generation of leaders by helping them win elections and hold elected office.
We need young, bold candidates who aren’t beholden to corporate money and special interests, but who are real advocates for the change we all want to see.
