The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice was created to
defend the most fundamental rights of all Americans – but Trump and his
MAGA enablers are trying to turn it into a weapon against the very people
it’s supposed to protect.

Trump has nominated an extremist who has spent her career attacking civil
rights. If confirmed, she will undermine voting rights, roll back
protections for LGBTQ+ Americans, and side with those in power over the
people who need justice the most.

This is who Trump and his accomplices want running the Civil Rights
Division:

🔴 She undermines voting rights. She has downplayed the DOJ’s role in
protecting elections, falsely claiming that the Voting Rights Act is no
longer necessary because “Jim Crow is long gone.” She also helped Trump
push lies about the 2020 election and defended those involved in fake
elector schemes.

🔴 She attacks transgender rights. She has dismissed transgender people’s
existence, calling them “men pretending to be women.” She opposes schools
supporting trans students and has fought to strip away gender-affirming
care for minors.

🔴 She would weaponize the Civil Rights Division against the communities
it’s meant to protect. Her own law firm and legal organization have fought
against core civil rights protections, including COVID safety measures,
LGBTQ+ rights, and reproductive freedom.

🔴 She would not protect those who need it most. Congress created the Civil
Rights Division to protect vulnerable Americans from those in power who
would harm them. But this nominee stands with the powerful, not the
people.

This nomination isn’t just dangerous – it’s a direct assault on everything
the Civil Rights Division was created to uphold. If she takes office, the
most basic rights of millions will be at risk.
