Jack,

Happy National Horse Protection Day!!!

Every year, March 1st is recognized as National Horse Protection Day, a day meant to bring awareness to the plight of horses including wild horses, across the United States and beyond!

Wild horses embody the untamed beauty of America’s landscapes, but they face unprecedented threats to their freedom and safety thanks to cruel and costly Bureau of Land Management (BLM) helicopter roundups. That’s why in honor of National Horse Protection Day, we’re mobilizing the wild horse conservation community for a Day of Action to #HaltTheHelicopters and advance protections for wild horses! We’re aiming to reach 50,000 signatures for our petition calling for an end to helicopter roundups and for the implementation of humane solutions to wild horse management. TAKE ACTION FOR WILD HORSES [[link removed]]

The reality facing America’s wild horses and burros today is dire. There are over 66,000 mustangs and burros currently held in federal government holding pens. The unacceptable truth of the BLM’s cruel and costly program is that there are more horses in captivity than there are roaming on our public lands.

And Jack, taxpayers like you are footing the $150+ million annual bill for this inhumane system.

Jack, we know there ARE science-backed, humane, cost-effective solutions to wild horse and burro conservation. And we need your help telling Congress that it is time to enact them instead of continuing cruel roundups. Please sign on to this petition demanding an end to brutal helicopter roundups. When you’re done, please also contact lawmakers to support humane management of America’s wild herds, then use the hashtag #HaltTheHelicopters on social media to help us raise awareness!

Thank you for standing with our wild herds, Jack!
