Maryland voters across the state support investing in walking, bicycling, and transit infrastructure in order to reduce pollution from traffic congestion. That’s the message of a poll the Maryland Sierra Club commissioned over the winter holidays to measure support for the Transportation and Climate Alignment Act (TCA), which is currently in the Maryland General Assembly.

A new report from ATU Local 689 finds that Metro’s impact on nearby land values is roughly $30 billion. Taxing the region’s land, rather than improvements to it, could sustainably and fairly support WMATA.
