Sen. Katie Britt to lead U.S. delegation to Uruguay for Orsi inauguration

President Donald J. Trump announced Thursday that U.S. Senator Katie Britt,
R-Ala., will lead a Presidential Delegation to Montevideo, Uruguay, to attend
the inauguration of President-elect Yamandú Orsi.

“On behalf of President Trump and our nation, I am excited to be leading the
United States’ delegation to Uruguay’s presidential inauguration,” said Senator
Britt. “It was a very humbling moment to be selected by President Trump to lead
this presidential delegation, and I am honored he has entrusted me with the
responsibility to do this.”

Britt: 'Sanctuary jurisdictions and their reckless policies undermine the
safety of all Americans'

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt recently participated in a hearing of the Senate
Committee on the Judiciary on Todd Blanche's nomination to serve as deputy
Attorney General and Gail Slater's nomination to serve as assistant attorney
general for the Antitrust Division.



In the hearing, Britt asked Blanche about the Executive Office for Immigration
Review. She highlighted the court's backlog, which grew from 1.4 million in
fiscal year 2021, Joe Biden's first year as president, to 3.5 million in fiscal
year 2024, his final year.

Tuberville, Britt revive effort to end mandatory union dues, strengthen
right-to-work laws

U.S. Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt, along with U.S. Senator Rand
Paul (R-KY) have reintroduced legislation that repeals six controversial
statutory provisions in two existing labor-related laws.


The laws that the National Right to Work Act will alter if ratified include
the National Labor Relations Act and the Railway Labor Act. Both allow
private-sector workers, airline, and railroad employees, to be terminated if
they don’t surrender a portion of their paycheck to a union.
