Over the course of the public health crisis, the country has seen an unprecedented increase in the number of guns sold.

Over 2.5 million firearms were sold in March alone, an 85% increase from the previous year. That means American homes now have more guns than ever before -- at the same time that America's children are spending more time at home than ever before.

It's a tragic combination, the effects of which are now becoming apparent -- the country has seen a drastic increase in the amount of unintentional shootings in just the last few months.

Congress could act immediately to pass safe storage laws, something the majority of Americans support regardless of party. But in the past, special interest groups like the NRA have used dark money-funded lawsuits to challenge these laws anywhere they can.

Protecting America's most vulnerable population shouldn't be a political debate. Unfortunately, it's become one -- which is why we must demand Congress take action to fix this problem and safeguard our children.

If you believe in commonsense gun reform supported by millions of Americans -- if you believe in rejecting the NRA's shadowy influence on American politics -- and if you believe that our elected representatives should protect us and our families, not their jobs and their donors -- then we need you to add your name to the tens of thousands of engaged Democrats across the country who are standing up to fight for safe storage laws NOW. >> [link removed]
