The rumor mill is in overdrive again: “Republicans are cutting Medicaid! It’s on the chopping block!”
Blah, blah, blah…don’t believe the hype, folks. This is just another liberal scare tactic. Democrats have enlisted Soros-backed groups and paid agitators to keep their fearmongering afloat.
Here’s the dadgum truth: The people pitching the biggest fit have a dog in this fight. They’re getting rich off the money that should go to folks in need—and they want to make sure their gravy train keeps running down the track.
All Republicans are trying to do is cut waste, fraud, and abuse.
From overbilling to phantom accounts for people who don’t even exist, you wouldn't believe how your tax dollars are being thrown to the wind. We're $36 trillion in debt, and this is the type of crud that got us into that financial heap.
If we can cut $880 billion in loopholes and middleman committees, why wouldn’t we? That money should go to the people, not to bureaucrats who want the machine to keep running as is.
This all reminds me of when President Ronald Reagan tried to clean up government waste. They accused him of slashing programs, but all he was trying to do was fix a broken system. At that time, the government was spending $2 to deliver $1 of benefits, so he cut through red tape to put more money into the hands of people who really needed it.
Americans are sick and tired of watching their hard-earned money disappear into bloated government programs that aren’t doing them much good.
If we can cut fraud and abuse and put dollars back into Americans’ pockets, that’s a win, and I’m hopeful we can do it without affecting coverage.
