| 🚀 Performers POWER UP at Mortimer’s
On February 16, Twin Cities United Performers hosted a show at Mortimer’s as part of our campaign to improve transparency and communication with venues. Just like any worker, before a show performers deserve to know key details like pay and when to arrive. We’re nearly to our goal of 500+ performers signing onto our Power Pledge to use a unified advance process. Do you perform in the Twin Cities or know someone who does? Sign our Power Pledge and share the link.

| 👄 Duluth Tenants speak out about crucial repairs
“When will my home catch fire? Our historic buildings are beautiful but that does not mean our wiring should stay old and unsafe.” That’s what Duluth Tenants member, Shi, shared directly with Duluth City Council at a meeting this month. Duluth Tenants members are showing up to support renters to submit repair requests to landlords and to push the City to make sure renters are safe in our homes. Are you a renter in Duluth? Sign our repair pledge and share it with your fellow renters.

We're watching: MN GOP's attempted coup |
|
|
|
ICYMI, the MN GOP turned the start of legislative session into chaos by ignoring the will of voters and then attempting a 2-year power grab in the MN House. 👀 It flopped because of the DFL reps who stood together to deny quorum and uphold the election results Minnesotans delivered. This whole debacle shows collective action is powerful and critical to resist extremism and protect our democracy. Get more details on our Instagram.

| What team are you part of and what are you trying to win? I'm a leader in Duluth Tenants, and we're organizing to win safe and stable housing for all in Duluth!
What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself since you started organizing? I'm much better at making conversation with strangers than I thought! I was always very nervous about going out canvassing. After I started going out with our crew last summer, I quickly realized I had nothing to be anxious about. Knowing I can connect with new people is really encouraging. It's helped me realize I have more to offer than I thought, and makes our campaign feel that much more winnable. Conversations like that are crucial to community organizing.
How can folks build power and act with your team right now? If you're in Duluth and you want to get involved sign up to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, March 4th at the Duluth Folk School! To keep up with us, follow us on Instagram, and check out our Linktree.
