HARKER HEIGHTS, TX – The City of Harker Heights is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Mahlstedt as Interim Fire Chief, effective March 1, 2025. Interim Chief Mahlstedt will lead the department during this transition period, ensuring continued excellence in emergency response and community safety.
Interim Chief Mahlstedt has 29 years of experience in fire service, having previously served as the City of Harker Heights Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal. His leadership, dedication, and deep commitment to public safety will be invaluable as the department continues to serve and protect the community.
