Dear John,
We recently told you that the House voted last month to pass the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025 with a vote of 218 to 206. Two Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the bill. Monday, it's the Senate's turn. A vote is scheduled for Monday night on the Senate version of this bill (S. 9), sponsored by Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL). President Trump's recent executive order on this subject is a positive step, but we need something more permanent in law to protect women's and girls' sports.
Send a message to your senators now, urging their support for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act!
Little girls in America who dream of becoming athletes should have their hopes and dreams encouraged, not placed out of reach. Unfortunately, today we are seeing an all-out attack on fairness and opportunity for female athletes at both the high school and collegiate levels. You're likely familiar with the example of Lia Thomas, a male swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania who competed as a woman and won 19 events, three league titles, and one national championship (500-yeard freestyle). In the process, Thomas set multiple records and finished as the top-ranked swimmer for Division I mid-major schools as well as the highest-rated Ivy League and University of Pennsylvania women's swimmer. This both erased the hard-won achievements made by female swimmers over the years and opportunities for current female athletes competing in the pool.
Examples like these of female athletes missing out on opportunities are piling up, making the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act more needed than ever.
Send a message to your senators, asking them to vote for common sense and protect women's and girls' sports!
Sincerely,
Your Friends at FRC Action
