UPDATE: The American Prospect reports: “'Significant Workforce Reductions'
Underway at Social Security Administration" — after Elon Musk and DOGE
descended on the agency this week. The cuts could slash 50% of the
agency's workforce.
They are trying to destroy Social Security.
Every day, 120,000 people rely on Social Security offices for critical
services—starting benefits, applying for Medicare, and more. These cuts
will mean delays, denials, and devastating consequences for seniors and
people with disabilities.
Instead of gutting Social Security, we should be expanding it. Elizabeth
Warren and Bernie Sanders’ Social Security Expansion Act does just that —
and they’re reintroducing it this week.
