Dear friends,
California YIMBY has a bold 2025 legislative agenda to tackle our state's housing shortage and affordability crisis – but it won't pass without your help.
Last night our team rolled out our 2025 legislative agenda on a statewide call. YIMBYs heard about major legislation like SB 79, which will make it faster and easier to build housing near transit. We also discussed SB 677, which will make improvements to SB 9 and SB 423 to help them reach their full potential.
Our agenda includes big bills that can have a significant impact on the housing crisis. But we know they'll face opposition from the usual NIMBY suspects, and brand new challenges in 2025 as they move through the legislative process.
That's why we're bringing the YIMBY movement to Sacramento for Lobby Day on Tuesday, May 20. Already nearly 100 people have signed up. Will you join them to help pass our bold legislative agenda?

As you know, Lobby Day takes a significant time to plan so please help us create the best experience for you by signing up ASAP.
It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned housing advocate or just getting involved for the first time -- we'll make it easy for you to talk with your Assemblymember and/or your State Senator about the transformative legislation we want them to pass in the 2025 session.
In 2025 we want to continue to improve the gender balance and bring more attendees from historically underrepresented communities to meetings with state legislators. We need your help to spread the word and make sure our female presenting neighbors and those from historically underrepresented communities feel welcome and encouraged to join in our meetings with state legislators. We want our delegation to mirror the rich diversity of our beloved state.
We'll introduce you to your Lobby Team, provide training events, talking points and materials ahead of time, along with helpful hints and time to prep with your Lobby Team when we're all gathered in Sacramento on the morning of May 20th, before the actual meetings.
We don't want finances to be a barrier to your participation. So to assist those experiencing financial hardship, California YIMBY will provide travel reimbursement for travel to and from Sacramento for Lobby Day on a first come first serve basis. We have limited funds available for this purpose, and they'll stretch much further if you can arrange your travel early.
So, if you're interested in helping pass transformative legislation to tackle California's housing shortage and affordability crisis,
please RSVP today for YIMBY Lobby Day on May 20!
We can't wait to see you in Sacramento!
Gratefully,
Konstantin
