PREVIOUS MESSAGE:
John,
This is huge. My campaign for Congress just picked up a huge new endorsement, and I couldn’t be more proud:

As the first LGBTQ+ official ever elected in the Bronx, I am honored to have Human Rights Campaign's endorsement. And on June 23rd, we have an opportunity to make history again.
With your help, I can become the first LGBTQ+ Congressional representative in Bronx history. And just as important, we can also forcefully reject an openly homophobic candidate running against me in this primary — Rubén Díaz, Sr.
Mr. Diaz has no business representing us. He’s a well-documented bigot who has targeted the LGBTQ+ community with incendiary comments for years — including when he likened being gay to beastiality. He also claimed that the NYC Council was secretly “controlled” by the homosexual community.
If you need more evidence that he's an extreme conservative who doesn't stand for our progressive values, just know that he endorsed Ted Cruz for president in 2016. He's also considering a Trump endorsement this November. Yes, really.
I’ve said it before: This primary election is a clear choice between a progressive leader fighting for a progressive agenda and a homophobe who would Donald Trump’s staunchest ally in Congress. I think the choice is pretty clear.
