TENANT COMMISSIONER RECRUITMENT

The Housing Authority of the County of San Diego (HACSD) is seeking qualified applicants to serve as a Tenant Commissioner in the Senior Seat on the Housing Authority of the County of San Diego Board of Commissioners (Board). 

The Board is the governing body of the HACSD and is comprised of the five members of the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors and two Tenant Commissioners. As the governing body, the Board oversees the administration of the Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing Programs and is responsible for approving program activities, such as the Agency Plan, the annual budget, requests for funding, changes in program administration and implementation of new housing programs.

HACSD Public Housing residents and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program participants are eligible for appointment as a Tenant Commissioner. For the Senior Seat vacancy, applicants must be 62 years old or older as of appointment date. 

Attendance at scheduled Tenant Commissioner trainings and Board meetings is requirement for continued eligibility to serve as a Tenant Commissioner, but not a program requirement.
