![]() Today is the last day of the month, which probably means you’re getting bombarded with emails asking for a donation. So first and foremost, I want to apologize for adding to your overflowing email inbox. But the fact is, we’ve got our work cut out for us in the weeks and months ahead — and your grassroots support is critical if we want to win the big fights that lie ahead of us. My background is pretty unique in Washington. I was raised by a single mom and was the first person in my family to attend college. I juggled multiple jobs to pay my way through school. And I’m the first LGBTQ+ Native American ever elected to Congress. (Not to mention, one of the first former MMA fighters in Congress too!) I’m proud to bring that unique voice to Congress. But I know that simply bringing that voice isn’t enough. What really matters is using that voice. Lately, that’s meant fighting back against the extremism we’ve seen from the president and his allies — using every tool we’ve got to combat their attacks on abortion rights, affordable health care, public education, Social Security, and so much more. By resisting extremism and using our voices, we’ve weathered tough times before, and we can do it again. We know that these extreme politicians would love nothing more than to see us give up. So no matter what lies ahead in the future, you can count on me to fight back relentlessly against any attack on our values and fight for real progress wherever and whenever it’s possible — because that’s the kind of leadership Kansas needs right now. But the fact is, KS-03 is a competitive district, and I need your help to ensure our communities continue to receive the representation they deserve.
Regardless of whether you’re able to chip in today, I want to say thank you one more time for always having my back. With this team behind me, I know we can continue to move Kansas forward. With gratitude, -Sharice |
