In 2015, Canadians voted for real change after a decade of Conservative cuts.
In our government’s first mandate, we introduced the first-ever gender-balanced cabinet, delivered the Canada Child Benefit to put more money in families' pockets, and lowered the retirement age back to 65, after the Conservatives raised it.
And since then, we haven’t slowed down.
Together, we introduced $10-a-day child care which is saving families thousands of dollars each year. We’re delivering national pharmacare which is giving Canadians access to free prescription contraceptive and diabetes medication. We introduced Canada’s first climate plan to tackle pollution and grow our economy. And we have built a more inclusive Canada by introducing more support for LGBTQ2+ Canadians, investing in women entrepreneurs and pay equity, and supporting racialized communities.
