Becket headed to the Supreme Court this spring

Our two Supreme Court cases now have dates set for their oral arguments! First up is Catholic Charities Bureau v. Wisconsin Labor & Industry Review Commission on March 31st. This is our case where Catholic Charities’ service to the poor and needy was deemed not “religious,” blocking the charity from leaving the state’s unemployment compensation program and joining the Wisconsin Catholic Church’s more efficient program. Our second case, Mahmoud v. Taylor, will appear before the Court on April 22nd to defend the right of parents to opt their children out of mandated storybooks that push a one-sided ideology on gender and human sexuality, and guide their own children on such complex and sensitive issues.
