Anti-choice politicians – both federally and at the state level – are ramping up a coordinated effort to weaken our communities and vital institutions.
This is particularly true as we look at actions impacting reproductive freedom, both federally and in the states:

Trump has repeatedly promised to defund Planned Parenthood, a trusted and essential healthcare provider serving communities nationwide.

Trump has pardoned violent abortion clinic protesters and limited enforcement of clinic protections, directly endangering patients and providers.
-
States have ramped up attacks on doctors: the civil and criminal lawsuits out of Texas and Louisiana are just one example. These cases are a transparent attempt to intimidate doctors and deter patients from seeking care.

Elon Musk is dumping $1.6 million into April’s Wisconsin State Supreme Court race, a contest with major implications for reproductive freedom and democracy.
The strategy here is clear: Trump and MAGA politicians at every level are bringing this fight directly to our communities.
But our communities are fighting back.
City councils and state legislatures can dedicate funds to help patients travel to access care.
City councils can pass ordinances to protect local clinics.
Governors can pass shield laws to protect doctors and patients from out-of-state attacks.
Together, we can continue electing a strong bench of down-ballot pro-choice leaders to keep our communities safe and healthy.
In these frightening times, the helpers are all around us: they’re our neighbors, doctors, teachers, community members, and friends.
And in 2025 and beyond, thousands of elections will give us the opportunity to build lasting political power together.
