Tea is Best Served Hot

Welcome to All* the Tea, our new abortion justice newsletter where we give you the good, the bad, and the in-between news about our movement.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it: We know there is a rough road ahead to true abortion justice. Our families, communities, and organizations will feel the pain of a government consolidation under what can only be described as super villains taking over American politics. But in true superhero fashion, we won't be down for long. In the ashes of what was, now more than ever we need a bold and courageous vision, strategy, and coalition building.

On what would have been the 52nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we launched a groundbreaking new resource for people plugged into our movement: The Abortion Justice Playbook, a comprehensive guide to dismantling systemic barriers to abortion care and advancing equity for marginalized communities who are disproportionally impacted by restrictive abortion policies. Designed for policymakers, advocates, and community leaders alike, it offers clear, actionable paths to combat barriers to care at the federal, state, and local levels.

That's just one move among many that our super team has got cooking up. Because we believe in a future where everyone has abortion access, we won't stop until we see it. And right now, we're piping hot.

In solidarity,

Nourbese Flint
President

In the Legislature

In the South Carolina Supreme Court, Abortion justice allies are challenging a 2023 law that deemed abortion illegal after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is generally about six weeks--and too early for many people to even know they're pregnant.

In Your Words

“Abortion access needs to be an assured thing. It cannot be on again/off again.” -- Jean S., Advocate

“I have had two abortions (would have been three if I hadn't miscarried on my own) and they 100% saved my life. I fight for abortion justice because I believe everyone should have the right to make their own decisions about their own bodies, the same way I did.” -- Ilyssa S., Advocate
