One month into the Trump/Musk presidency has been every bit as disastrous as we warned. I wanted to update you on what I’ve been doing to stop the mindless DOGE approach as the Ranking Member of the Oversight Committee and ask for your help with a contribution.

Oversight has been ground zero for the Democratic resistance to Trump and Musk.

We’ve used hearings on DOGE to expose Musk’s illegal actions and even raised questions about his lack of authority period. We even moved to subpoena Musk so he could answer questions under oath, but Republicans used their majority to block it.

I’ve joined protests with postal employees and at USAID to show support for these workers and hear firsthand their horror stories of working under Musk. I’ve met with federal employees to discuss their litigation strategy and was heartened to see a federal judge block these illegal firings earlier this week.

I led a letter with over 100 House Democrats DEMANDING that Musk’s illegal threats to federal employees be rescinded, and we WON: the Office of Personnel Management told federal employees not to respond.

We’ve used inspector general reports to show the real effect of DOGE: billions of dollars in food will rot because the USAID employees who deliver it have been fired.

These are the first victories as we show the damaging effects of the Trump-Musk agenda and how it's hurting working Americans. But the difference between what we could do with a majority is night and day. A Democratic Oversight Committee would be able to subpoena Musk and force him to testify or be held in contempt. I’m committed to doing my part to help elect a Democratic majority, but I need your help.

Here’s the reality: The Trump-Musk machine has unlimited money to push their agenda, but we’re up against our end-of-month deadline tonight, and we’re still $4,860 short of our goal. If we don’t close that gap, we’ll be starting the next month at a disadvantage — just when they’re ramping up their attacks.
