It's Almost Time! Next week we will be gathering together in Springfield to advocate for our youngest learners!
Below, find some helpful resources for Early Childhood Advocacy Day:
Agenda At-A-Glance:
6:30-10:00 a.m. Morning Travel to Illinois State Library, Springfield
10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Registration, Advocate Consultation, Lunch
10:30 a.m. Advocates begin heading to Rotunda
11:45 a.m. All remaining advocates head towards Rotunda
12:00 p.m.- 12:30 p.m. Rally
12:30- 1:45 p.m. Legislative Activities at the Capitol
1:45 p.m. Bus Riders return to hotel
2:00 p.m. Buses depart
Reminders

A boxed lunch will be available at the library from 10am to 1:30 pm.

Advocates will go through metal detectors before entering any buildings in the Capitol Complex. Pocketknives, scissors, etc are not allowed inside buildings in the Capitol Complex.

Capitol police will be present while advocates go through security, however there is no requirement to show identification to enter the Capitol or other complex buildings. Be prepared to stand and walk for a considerable amount of time; don't forget to bring water and snacks with you.

If you haven't looked up your legislators yet, now is a great time to do so!

Recordatorios
- Se ofrecerá un almuerzo (envasado en caja) en la biblioteca, disponible de 10 am a 1:30 pm.
- Los defensores pasarán por detectores de metales antes de ingresar a cualquier edificio del Complejo del Capitolio. No se permiten navajas, tijeras, etc. dentro de los edificios del Complejo del Capitolio.
- La policia del Capitolio estará presente mientras los defensores pasan por seguridad, sin embargo, no es necesario mostrar identificacion para ingresar al Capitolio u otros edificios del complejo.
