Hi John,
In observance of HIV Is Not a Crime Awareness Day, we are amplifying the “Find The Laws In Your State” Map of HIV Criminalization in the United States, created by the Center for HIV Law and Policy (CHLP). This resource is essential in the fight against laws that unfairly criminalize people living with HIV.
This resource comes at a critical time. Public health is under attack, and federal agencies like the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are facing increasing restrictions on their ability to provide science-based information on HIV criminalization. Now, more than ever, we must ensure that advocates like you have access to accurate, comprehensive data.
With the latest and most substantial update to the Map of HIV Criminalization in the U.S., CHLP’s Positive Justice Project aims to:
-
Provide a clearer picture of the laws impacting people living with HIV.
-
Improve the accessibility of legal data for grassroots advocates.
-
Ensure our collective fight for justice evolves alongside our understanding of the issue.
Together, we can dismantle these harmful laws and push for policies rooted in justice and human rights.
Check out CHLP's map and know the laws in your state.
