John,

I won’t sugarcoat it: the confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is a horrific blow to public health, including abortion access, health, and care.

We are committed to providing fact-based, evidence-based information on abortion. Give to keep it up.

Kennedy has spread baseless claims and objectively false information on a variety of topics from vaccine safety to HIV and reproductive healthcare. At this moment in history, it is beyond crucial that this is fought with truthful, scientific-backed facts, which is what we’ve been doing with our self-managed abortion with pills campaign for nearly a decade.

Everyone deserves the truth in order to make the best health care decisions for themselves. Don’t you agree?

Despite countless studies showing that medication abortion is safe and effective, Kennedy’s responses to questions at his confirmation hearings point towards his rolling back of access and a clear alignment with Trump’s anti-abortion views. Just hours after his confirmation, Kennedy appeared on Fox News, claiming the safety of abortion pills requires further study. [1] This troubling statement could be a pretext for further restrictions, especially since there are more than two decades worth of studies concluding that abortion pills are safe and effective.

Abortion pills are safer than Viagra. Safer than Tylenol. They do not need overbearing regulations.

Kennedy’s confirmation is the beginning of a dangerous act with disastrous implications for the health, safety, and wellbeing of this country.

And we will fight it with all we have.

Sincerely,

Erin Matson
President, Co-Founder, and CEO, Reproaction

P.S. These years will be long, but you are not fighting alone. Join the movement. Give today.
