We use the “Lake Forever” bond money — you approved it with an 80% landslide last November, $50 million starting in 2026 — to buy agricultural easements and keep Long & Scott in production.
I’ve already directed county staff to reach out to the Scott family and get the ball rolling. Hank Scott’s willing to listen if we can match the developers’ offer.
During Tuesday's Commission meeting, I highlighted this as a key priority, and all the commissioners showed strong interest. I’m confident they’ll ultimately back the proposal.
We’ve got the tools, the funds, and the will of the people. Now, we just need to make our voices heard.
