** 1. YOU'RE INVITED: Join Us at Our Next Mama Bear Workshop in Western NC
------------------------------------------------------------
Sending a child to public school does not mean parents forfeit their fundamental right to know and influence what their child is being taught. Parents have long exercised local control over public education to ensure their court-recognized right to oversee their child’s learning and upbringing is respected. Unfortunately, progressive activists have increasingly used schools as a tool for social change, often at the expense of parental input.
Join us for the Mama Bear Workshop at Radiant Church in Arden, NC, where you’ll learn how to protect children from harmful curriculum and ideological indoctrination. Half of all ticket sales will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse to support their efforts in rebuilding Western North Carolina.

** 2. NC VALUES: The Truth About IVF
------------------------------------------------------------
At NC Values, we believe in protecting all human life, no matter how small. That means standing up for the unborn, defending parental rights, and ensuring that life-creating procedures are conducted ethically—without the destruction of human life.
While IVF can be a blessing for married couples struggling with infertility, it must be performed in a way that respects life, family, and ethical boundaries. We support policies that:
✔ Ensure IVF does not destroy human life
✔ Guarantee that children born through IVF have both a mother and a father
✔ Prohibit surrogacy for embryos created through IVF
Unfortunately, a new bill introduced in the General Assembly seeks to solve a problem that does not exist, and in doing so permanently allow the mass destruction of embryos and other problematic practices.

** 3. NEW YORK TIMES: Botched Care and Tired Staff: Planned Parenthood in Crisis
------------------------------------------------------------
"Nakara Alston was leaving her boyfriend when she learned she was eight weeks pregnant. In desperation, she got an abortion at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Albany, N.Y., and moved with her two daughters into a homeless shelter.
But something was clearly wrong. Several weeks after the procedure, she was still bleeding heavily and suffering from painful cramps. She took another home pregnancy test, and when it came back positive, the clinic staff assured her that they had seen the aborted fetus and there was nothing to worry about. It was only after she went to an emergency room that she discovered the problem: The baby was still in her womb."

** 4. CAROLINA JOURNAL: NC Lawmakers Move to Ban DEI Programs in State Agencies
------------------------------------------------------------
“House Bill 171 proposes a ban on the promotion, funding, and implementation of DEI programs within state agencies, including in hiring practices, training programs, and the establishment of DEI offices.
Sponsored by Reps. Brenden Jones, R-Columbus, Neal Jackson, R-Moore, Jarrod Lowery, R-Robeson, and Blair Eddins, R-Wilkes, leaders of the effort argue that taxpayers deserve to know their dollars are funding a government that operates on fairness and equal opportunity, rather than ideological mandates at the expense of efficiency and public trust.”

** 5. WRAL: NC House Approves More Money for Helene Recovery, Unemployment Aid
------------------------------------------------------------
"Two bills focused on helping people, businesses and local governments from western North Carolina bounce back following Hurricane Helene won broad bipartisan approval Tuesday in the state House.
Lawmakers first took up a $500 million Helene aid bill, which is less than half of what Democratic Gov. Josh Stein said in early February is needed for "urgent" relief efforts. It passed unanimously, 116-0."

** Weekly Prayer: Officials
------------------------------------------------------------
LORD, you also have instructed us to pray for our governing officials, and we come to you in the spirit of this petition. We pray for our state government and its executive, legislative, and judicial servants. May they indeed be servants unto the people, and govern in a manner that protects liberty and virtue. In the same spirit, we pray for public servants across our local governments. May they all heed your mandate in Romans 13:4 to be in positions of authority as “God’s servant” and for the “good” of the public. They govern in what we confess are difficult times. May they plead with you to give them wisdom, and may your grace to govern wisely be poured out on them.
Protect us from the oppression and loss of freedoms that other countries have experienced, and help us to value and preserve freedom, which we know comes only from You.
“I have indeed seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groaning and have come down to set them free.” Acts 7:34
Amen
Sincerely,
Tami & Team
