Dear John,
At Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism, now and always, we support Black feminist activists and organizations defending racial justice, supporting communities, and taking care of one another. As we wrap up Black History Month, we're thrilled to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary work of two of our grantee partners who are using collective care to shape a future filled with Black joy and liberation.
Sistas Caring 4 Sistas is a true embodiment of community care. They provide vital evidence-based education, doula services, and postpartum support to Black families and advocate for racial equity in maternal and infant care. Their work is focused on supporting those facing financial barriers and systemic racism and their dedication is unwavering. When Hurricane Helene exacerbated existing racial disparities in maternal and infant health, they stepped up, expanding their services and fearlessly advocating to prioritize Black maternal and infant health in recovery efforts.
Love on Black Womxn is a grassroots, Black feminist organization that operates at the intersection of economic, racial, gender, and healing justice. Through interactive workshops on care, wellness, and anti-oppression, Love on Black Womxn shares sustainable joy and care practices, empowering local Black womxn and gender-expansive people to take collective action for racial justice while taking care of themselves.
Even as our rights are under attack, when we look around, we realize that we are surrounded by hope and inspiration from our communities. We are immensely proud to partner with these exceptional organizations and many others at the frontlines of the work for racial justice. They are not giving up; neither will we.
