I’m reaching out with an update regarding the state of Jefferson Square Park. Although our attempts to make San Francisco’s streets safer and drug-free are on-going, I want to share a recent development.
After an operation that occurred last night (2/26/2025) in Jefferson Square Park, San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) made 86 arrests of drug dealers and users. The park has been cleared, thanks to the efforts of:
San Francisco Police Department
San Francisco Sheriff’s Office
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
National Guard
San Francisco Rec and Park Rangers
Department of Public Works
San Francisco Fire Department
Animal Care and Control (ACC)
Going forward, my office is working on a number of ways to ensure the safety of residents in and around the park. I want to make clear that drug dealing is not tolerated in San Francisco.
You can read more about these updates through the articles on the SF Standard and the SF Chronicle.
Additionally, I would love to hear from you during our Town Hall Public Safety meeting on Thursday, March 6th from 5:30-7:00PM. The Town Hall meeting will take place at Marina Middle School, 3500 Fillmore Street, where you’ll have the opportunity to express your concerns directly to me, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, Police Chief Bill Scott and Sheriff Paul Miyamoto.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns and encourage you to continue to reach out with any updates or information you have. We hear you, and will strive to make sure you feel safe and heard within your community.
