John, I joined Rachel Maddow on MSNBC to discuss Virginia’s leadership – our Republican Governor and Lt. Governor – failing to stand up for Virginia’s federal workers who are losing their jobs.

Our Governor and Lt. Governor’s lack of compassion and understanding shows me that they clearly are not listening to the people. Everywhere I go across Virginia, people are coming to me and expressing their concerns with what this administration is doing to our federal workforce. Virginians have even stopped me at the grocery store to share their stories.

Meanwhile, Gov. Youngkin and Lt. Gov. Sears tell Virginians they can just find another job. What they don’t realize is that thousands of federal workers have devoted their careers to public service and do it out of a mission of serving our community and our country.

Not only is this hurting Virginia jobs, but it’s also directly impacting Virginia’s economy. And yet, Youngkin and Sears are unwilling to stand up to the Trump Administration and this reckless policy.

I’m running for Governor, because I want to ensure that every day – whether it’s protecting our federal workers, lowering costs, or strengthening our schools – I am serving the best interests of Virginians, and that means standing up even when it’s hard. Virginia deserves a Governor who will stand up for them.
