friend,
Needs around the world have continued to increase as crises—from conflict to natural disasters to disease outbreaks—escalate. US government cuts to international aid are having a devastating impact on people Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) medical staff treat every day.
MSF doesn’t accept funding from the US government, and thanks to independent support from donors like you, our programs will not be directly affected from a financial standpoint. However, we work alongside many other organizations and communities around the world that are directly impacted by the aid freeze. Our medical teams are witnessing widespread confusion as clinics and other critical services are shut down as other organizations lose funding or staff without warning.
Let me be clear: Cuts to international aid are effectively a death sentence for some of the world’s most vulnerable people. This is a preventable disaster that will increase suffering for millions of people.
Power our independent care around the globe in a moment of escalating need and diminishing support for humanitarian aid.

Humanitarian organizations like ours are not in a position to cover tens of billions of dollars in funding gaps to the wider sector. Even before these aid cuts, our teams were witnessing growing need in many of the countries where we work.
In North Darfur, Sudan, escalating violence has put medical relief at risk, despite worsening starvation and humanitarian needs. In Nigeria, a recent MSF survey warns that children will die in record numbers this year if malnutrition care and aid are not dramatically ramped up. And three years into the war in Ukraine, in the cold of winter, hundreds of thousands of people are still in need of health care.
MSF has already been calling for increased humanitarian response to meet the staggering needs on the rise in many of the countries where we work. Cutting aid is a devastating blow to an already-strained humanitarian sector.
This is a moment to show your support for independent humanitarian aid worldwide. Please rush an unrestricted emergency donation to power lifesaving aid where it is needed most.
Thank you for supporting humanitarian aid and medical assistance in this moment of great uncertainty and need. Together, we can be an independent beacon of hope, providing care to people who need it the most.
Warmly, |
