It’s half term week for schools here in England so things have been a little quieter on the royal front. 

King Charles and Queen Camilla have been out and about with a number of Buckingham Palace receptions and engagements (more on that in a bit), but after a busy few weeks, the Prince and Princess of Wales appear to have taken some downtime with the kids. 

We may not have seen Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte in a little while, but Catherine delighted fans earlier this week by sharing some of their artworks as part of a new project. She wanted to help kick off a new initiative encouraging families to get creative together after recently launching the “Bobeam Tree Trail” at the National Portrait Gallery in London. 

Meanwhile, we finally got a long-awaited update from the Duchess of Sussex on her lifestyle venture. And in unveiling her revamp, we got a rare snap of her with her 3-year-old daughter, Lilibet.

Kate and children share hand-drawn family portraits. 

On Monday, Kensington Palace shared on social media four portraits drawn by Catherine, Princess of Wales and her three children. The drawings were posted to X with the caption, “Drawing portraits with children can provide a moment of connection as you spend time looking at and focusing on one another, as well as being creative and – most importantly – having lots of fun together!” The post listed the creators of the artwork as “Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte, Prince George and The Princess of Wales.” Kensington Palace released the pictures after Kate inaugurated a new exhibit at London’s National Portrait Gallery earlier this month. The exhibit, dubbed the “Bobeam Tree Trail,” encourages children to draw self-portraits while visiting the museum. Queen visits domestic abuse charity.

Queen Camilla visited a charity in London on Thursday dedicated to helping women and children from ethnic minority backgrounds affected by domestic abuse, forced marriage or other types of abuse. Camilla visited the Asian Women’s Resource Centre to mark the charity’s 45th anniversary. During the visit, Camilla toured the organization’s facilities, opened a new garden for quiet reflection and chatted with survivors of domestic abuse, later telling a staff member that it was “wonderful talking to those survivors and hearing what a difference it (the charity) makes to their lives,” according to PA Media news agency. Tackling domestic abuse is something Camilla has devoted time to for several years. In November, she teamed up with an all-female production crew in a powerful documentary in which she vowed to eradicate domestic abuse. Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, King Charles presented multiple awards to the first recipients of “The Humanitarian Medal.” First announced in January, it recognizes those in public service who respond during or in the aftermath of a crisis.

King Charles III is shown a prosthetic leg by Anthony Bull, the director of Imperial College London's Centre for Injury Studies, on Wednesday to highlight one way the United Kingdom is supporting injured service personnel in Ukraine. The British monarch was visiting the university department ahead of the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and was joined by the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, Valerii Zaluzhnyi. During the visit, the King spoke to a Ukrainian doctor who thanked Charles “for the United Kingdom’s unwavering support.” The center has been working with several Ukrainian healthcare providers in the last three years. 

Queen Camilla hosted a star-studded reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday to celebrate the work of London's National Theatre, where she has been patron since 2022. Hollywood stars including Cate Blanchett, Andrew Garfield and James Cordon attended the event and could be seen chatting and laughing with the Queen. As well as hosting productions in London, the National Theatre is a registered charity and tours its work to local theaters and schools across the UK. During a speech, National Theatre chairman Damon Buffini said to Camilla: “We would like to see you more often and you could drag your other half along if you would like to,” according to PA Media. Later, the Queen was treated to a scene from the play “The Importance of Being Earnest,” which Camilla described as “one of my favourites,” adding: “It’s so funny. It really makes me laugh.”

Earlier this week, Meghan relaunched her lifestyle brand, with a new name: As Ever. In revealing the venture’s new direction, she unveiled a new website featuring what appeared to be a rare photo of her daughter, Lilibet. The former “Suits” star announced the news in a post on Instagram on Monday. She unveiled the first product from American Riviera Orchard in April 2024, but information on the brand has remained limited since. On Monday, Meghan said that she’d secured the new business name in 2022 and had been waiting to share the news publicly. Find out more about the duchess’ lifestyle rebrand here.
