Dear John ,
We’re living in times that are seemingly filled to the brim with news that makes us anxious. During this time, it’s important to recognize our victories – the wins you’ve made possible. This is one of the most important election years in recent memory.

There’s so much at stake: the governor’s veto power, the presidency, the future of both clean water and clean energy are all on the line.
From local clean energy policy to championing pro-conservation legislation to electing conservation leaders, your efforts are making a difference in Wisconsin.

Your support, your action, and your love for Wisconsin have fueled recent victories for our air, water, health, and democracy. Now, we must build this momentum as we head to the November election.

Here is a sample of recent victories you can be proud of:

Judge Jill Karofsky wins a seat on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court
The standout victory in the Spring Election came when now Justice-elect Jill Karofsky upset incumbent Dan Kelly by double digits. Conservation voters and the issues you care about played a significant role in that victory.

Big wins in local spring elections
Wisconsin Conservation Voters-endorsed candidates won 37 of 46 local races, from Brown and Marinette Counties to Lafayette and Eau Claire Counties to the city and school boards of Green Bay. Your support allowed us to run robust voter contact programs, helping push the candidates to victory.

Green Bay Area Public School District Board passes clean energy resolution
Wisconsin Conservation Voters worked with the school board, school administration, and the community to write and pass a 100 percent clean energy resolution. It is the most comprehensive clean energy resolution for a school district in the state.

Menomonie passes clean energy resolution
As the result of a Wisconsin Conservation Voters' campaign, the Menomonie City Council passed a resolution to ensure all electricity in the city is carbon-free by 2050.

Attorney General Josh Kaul withdraws damaging opinion on high capacity wells
In May, Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul withdrew an opinion of former Attorney General Brad Schimel that denied the Department of Natural Resources power to put conditions on high capacity well applications. Wisconsin Conservation Voters came out early in support of Kaul when he ran for Attorney General in 2018.

Clean energy advocates release the Wisconsin Clean Energy Toolkit
In March, along with RENEW Wisconsin and Sierra Club of Wisconsin, we launched the Wisconsin Clean Energy Toolkit, a comprehensive guide for local communities on how to embrace clean energy goals and policy. You can download or view the toolkit at wicleanenergytoolkit.com. [[link removed].]

You can explore both recent and historic victories at conservationvoters.org/victories [[link removed]] . There, we have highlighted more than 50 wins for our state’s environment, democracy, and health.

Without your support, your actions, and your votes this incredible progress is not possible. With the stakes higher than ever before, this fall’s election will be one of the most important in our lifetimes.

Together, we can keep the momentum strong, and win even greater victories for the state we love.

Thank you for being a conservation voter,
Kerry Schumann
Executive Director
Wisconsin Conservation Voters

P.S. Your support helps us continue to fight for clean energy and clean drinking water and elect leaders who will stand up for your natural resources and communities. Can we count on your continued support with a gift today?
