John,

Despite the grim milestone of more than 100,000 American lives lost to the COVID-19 crisis, the Trump administration continues to target transgender students needlessly and heartlessly.

In a cruel move, the US Department of Education sent a threatening letter to Connecticut claiming that the state violated federal law simply by allowing two transgender girls to participate in school sports events. This letter also outlines that schools must deprive trans students from the valuable lessons of being on a team with their peers--teamwork, self-discipline, success, and failure-- or risk losing critical federal funding that the state desperately needs to educate our children.

This is sanctioned discrimination against the most vulnerable in our community, and we will fight to ensure it does not stand. But we can’t do it alone, we need your help. Will you fight back with us by making a gift to the NCTE Action Fund today?

It is unconscionable that while our country is facing so many challenges, the Trump administration remains viciously focused on erasing transgender students’ rights. Being a kid is hard enough. We should make it easier, not harder.

The NCTE Action Fund is doing everything we can to help these kids. Right away, we began working with Members of Congress to keep the Trump administration in check and mobilizing leaders to speak out. Will you join us in this fight?

Help fuel our mission with a contribution today.
