Fellow activist,

The right to vote has been undercut across the country and remains at risk – especially for Black voters and other voters of color. Instead of strengthening these protections by enacting the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act or the For the People Act, leadership in Congress is pushing anti-voter legislation that will add more barriers to the ballot box.

As Black voters and other voters of color across the country face the greatest assault on their voting rights since the Jim Crow era, a growing number of states are acting to protect the right to vote and safeguard our democracy. That is why we are determined to pass a PA Voting Rights Act (VRA).

With the passage of State Voting Rights Acts, states can provide key protections to their constituents that prevent and guard against discriminatory voting practices and policies. Currently, eight states across the country have passed VRAs that positively impact voters. Passing a Pennsylvania Voting Rights Act is urgent to make sure Pennsylvania’s government is accountable to the needs and interests of our communities, by protecting the right to vote. It has never been more important that we get this done.

There will be a lot of obstacles ahead, but together, we can continue to move the Commonwealth forward. Help us prepare to defend democracy and expand voting rights in PA by donating $25 today →
