Thank you to those who responded to my survey asking your thoughts on the November election results. Now that my team and I have had the chance to review those responses, we want to share them with you:
Why did Donald Trump win? The most common responses, according to over 60% of you, were:
• He successfully blamed Democrats for inflation
• He focused on immigration and border security
• He connected with men who are feeling anxious about their place in society
What did Democrats do wrong? Answers here were more dispersed, but the most common responses, according to over 50% of you, were:
• We dismissed voters' worries about inflation and the economy
• There wasn't enough time to sell voters on the Harris-Walz team
Who would you most like to see lead our party in the future? This was no contest. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, with Pete Buttigieg and Gretchen Whitmer a distant second and third.
If you didn’t complete the survey but still want to, you can do so HERE. We’ll leave it open for a few more days.

My team and I hear you. While we can't go back and change the outcome of the election, we are taking what we learned to chart a new path forward that resonates with more voters. And in the meantime, we are doing everything we can to stop the reckless and dangerous actions of President Trump, Elon Musk, and Congressional Republicans who stand silently by.
We can’t do this without you. Will you support our work with a contribution today? Your financial support at this point in the campaign does two things: 1) it helps us to build our war chest for next year because campaigns are, sadly, crazy expensive and it’s not possible for us to raise what we need to win in the few months before the election and 2) it helps to cover the year-round, operations expenses that are kind of boring, honestly, but needed to run a campaign (think storage unit for yard signs, our compliance firm to keep us in good standing with the Federal Election Commission, the software to manage expenses and contributions, and so on).

Thank you for being part of our team during this challenging time. There's still so much work to be done.
