Refugees and asylum seekers come here to escape violence, which is oftentimes perpetrated by the United States in the first place. Now, the U.S. government is turning its back on the people it has harmed.
Seeking asylum is a human right. Yet Trump is slamming the door on vulnerable people, leaving them stranded in dangerous situations.
This cycle of violence is only going to get worse as the Trump administration continues to inflict pain on vulnerable groups to cause chaos and division.
We need to do everything we can to fight back — like sharing Know Your Rights Resources, advocating loudly for our communities, and showing politicians that we are here to stay.
