TOPEKA *– Governor Laura Kelly announced Friday seven appointments to the following state councils and commissions.
*_State Rehabilitation Council
_**Purpose: *To review, analyze, and advise rehabilitation services regarding the performance of the state workforce investment board.
* Angie Zimmerman, Hays
* Dana Swope, Wichita
*_Statewide Independent Living Council of Kansas
_**Purpose: *To develop a state plan through external input, ensuring independent living for Kansans, to advocate for the accomplishment of the state plan objectives, to monitor, review, and evaluate the state plan’s implementation, and to be a catalyst for independent living.
* Angie Zimmerman, Hays
*_Kansas African American Affairs Commission
_**Purpose: *To devise strategies to address public policy concerns of the African American community through state agency, corporation, and foundation partnerships and serve as a conduit for programs, grants, research, and policy advice for state and local organizations addressing unique concerns of the African American community in Kansas.
* Crystal Davis, Junction City
*_American Innovation $1 Coin Program Liaison
_**Purpose: *To enable the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in recognition of American innovation.
* Patrick Zollner, Topeka
*_Kansas Council on Developmental Disabilities
_**Purpose: *To advocate for increasing productivity, independence, integration, and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in Kansas communities and develop a state plan and fund activities to meet the plan’s goals.
