The new administration in DC has wasted no time in enacting policies hostile to the concept of government itself. Here in New Mexico, we’ve seen federal offices that support our communities suddenly close their doors or end critical programs. Our farmers can’t get updates from the USDA about the rapid spread of bird flu (have you tried to buy eggs lately?!) And federal workers who steward our public lands, fight wildfires, and keep the public safe have suddenly lost their jobs.
At Emerge New Mexico, we’re dedicated to fighting back against this administration’s harmful policies. We’ve always believed in the power of year-round organizing that extends well beyond any election cycle to ensure real, lasting change. That’s why New Mexicans showed up last November to reelect/ strong Democratic majorities in our State Legislature , and why we continue to recruit and train bold, diverse leaders who will fight for our communities..
