LCV scorecard release
The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) released its 2024 National Environmental Scorecard this week, available at scorecard.lcv.org [[link removed]] .
The scorecard evaluates lawmakers on critical issues like climate change, clean energy, and public health. It reveals a troubling trend of some members supporting harmful policies, with extreme House members pushing anti-environmental amendments and causing gridlock.
However, there were bright spots in Wisconsin’s delegation. Sen. Tammy Baldwin , Rep. Mark Pocan , and Rep. Gwen Moore stood out for their consistent votes in favor of environmental protections and public health, scoring 100 or nearly 100 percent on key priorities.
Wisconsin’s full delegation’s scores for 2024 are:
* Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) - 100 percent
* Sen. Ron Johnson (R) - 0 percent
* Rep. Bryan Steil (R-1st) - 6 percent
* Rep. Mark Pocan (D-2nd) - 100 percent
* Rep. Derrick Van Orden (D-3rd) - 6 percent
* Rep. Gwen Moore (D-4th) - 97 percent
* Rep. Scott Fitzgerald (R-5th) - 3 percent
* Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-6th) - 3 percent
* Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-7th) - 0 percent
* Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-8th) - 0 percent
LCV has been publishing the National Environmental Scorecard since 1970, scoring votes on crucial environmental issues to distinguish which legislators support environmental protection.
