Voting is open between March 10 and May 4, 2025! Take a look at a sneak peak of a Hatikvah campaign video, featuring NJN Board Member Joshua Malina:

A Vote for the Hatikvah Slate is a Vote for an Israel that Lives Up to Its Highest Values

Hatikvah is a broad coalition of liberal and progressive American Jews who strive to fully actualize the vision stated in Israel’s Declaration of Independence: the State of Israel “will be based on the precepts of liberty, justice and peace as taught by the Prophets; and will uphold the full social and political equality of all its citizens, without distinction of race, creed, or sex; and will guarantee full freedom of conscience worship, education and culture.”

After 20 Years, a House in Sheikh Jarrah is Taken out of the Hands of Settlers.

February 26, 2025- Twenty years ago, a settler association took over the property of the family of former Attorney General Michael Ben Yair in Sheikh Jarrah, without the family’s knowledge. The settlers managed to collect hundreds of thousands of shekels in rent from the Palestinian residence who live in the house and planned to replace them with settlers. When the Ben Yair family learned of this, they began a fight for their home with the help of Shalom Achshav, and about a month ago, the final verdict was given that returned the property to its rightful owners. The family intends to allow the Palestinian residents to continue living in their home for many years to come.

We are thrilled to welcome our new Vice President of Communications, Noam Shelef, to the NJN team!

The issues that NJN champions have always been close to Noam's heart, and it is no coincidence that he began his career in advocacy communications in 1997 as an intern for Americans for Peace Now. Over the course of his career, Noam has led communications programs on behalf of progressive causes in Israel, fighting for LGBTQ rights, and to end practices harmful to girls in Africa.

Call on Congress to Reject President Trump’s Criminal Gaza Plan

Over the past two weeks, President Trump has double- and triple-downed on his dangerous proposal for the US to “take over” Gaza. His reckless insistence that the United States participate in the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza is a clear call for ethnic cleansing - a war crime.

Trump’s claim that this forced displacement could occur without US military involvement is both deceptive and absurd. The mass expulsion of a population of this scale would inevitably require force, making his denials not only unrealistic but also deeply irresponsible.

Congress must make it clear that not a single taxpayer dollar will be spent on the forced displacement of Palestinian civilians living there.
